Matthew was born and raised on the North Shore of Massachusetts. He is a Professor of Sculpture at his alma mater, the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, Mass.
Matthew’s interventions play at the edges of art, design, whimsy, critique, and social justice and are deeply embedded in cultures of craft and materiality, and how meaning is conveyed through the vernacular of built environment.
For many years he has created guerrilla art installations in his Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, where he lives with his wife and two children. His latest work is a commissioned work for the City of Boston.
